Another beautiful day - perfect for uphill, downhill, and getting lost - all of which presented themselves on day 6.
With Quay House behind us, we headed up Skye Road (yes - UP Skye Road - why else would they call it that?).
Fortunately, we came upon the entrance gate and "road" to Clifden Castle after a couple of miles, and that provided an excuse for a detour. The road was basically a bog with running water, mud and rocks - but at least it was downhill (except on the way back)! Oh well, walking's fun too!
I decided 3/4 of the way there that the castle itself wasn't worth the effort, but the view was lovely and at least I saw the castle in the distance.
So it was back to the main road and on to Claddaghduff and then Cleggan for lunch. While I didn't take a lot of photos, it was a wonderful ride with some fantastic panoramas of the ocean from high on the cliffs. Then it was down - down - down (think I'm going to stop for pictures at a time like that? NO WAY!!). Fantastic!
'Course,
we got lost for a little bit, and me being from Mars there was no way I was going to ask for directions. Fortunately my riding companions at that point were from Venus, so we got back on track without too much difficulty.
