Glasgow for me was just a short day-and-a-half stop before heading home. Unfortunately, it took about a day before I realized that I really quite liked the place!

All I can honestly say about the city is that I hope I have a chance to return. With about half of the country's population, it's a real shopping Mecca with several blocks converted into pedestrian malls and an extensive area of nothing but jewelry stores. Too bad I wasn't in the mood for shopping!

The architecture is amazing, the people friendly, and the throbbing sense of a bustling city, particularly around Central Station, really quite invigorating.

But the most memorable thing for me about Glasgow was the massage I finally treated myself to after 7 days (ok, 6!) on a bike. It was bliss!

All good things eventually come to an end, and my first visit to Scotland was no exception.

But memories are forever......
